A high-profile delegation from Germany, comprising 16 influential leaders from various sectors including agricultural technology, insuretech, logistics, renewable energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, and artificial intelligence, is currently in Doha. Led by Gordon Pelz, Vice Chairman of the German Association of SMEs, the delegation’s visit is aimed at exploring investment prospects and enhancing economic cooperation between Qatar and Germany.
Organized by the German Association for SMEs office in Doha, the visit includes meetings with government officials and visits to key economic centers such as the Qatar Financial Centre, Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Free Zone, and Invest Qatar.
H.E. Lothar Freischlader, the German Ambassador to Qatar, highlighted the potential for German SMEs to thrive in Qatar’s technology-friendly environment, emphasizing the commitment to fostering innovation and strengthening economic ties.
Gordon Pelz stressed the significance of the visit in providing German businesses with insights into Qatar’s market and opportunities. Jeroen Nijland, Director of Investor Relations at Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (Invest Qatar), expressed mutual aspirations to create pathways for German SMEs to expand within Qatar and the broader region.
Schwippert, Managing Director of the German Association for SMEs GCC, acknowledged the warm reception from Qatari authorities and private entities, expressing gratitude for their support.
